Brose Drive - Remanufactured / Overhaul - Recycle

(March 23, 2023)
Recycling of e-bike drives
Brose is the first e-bike drivetrain manufacturer to offer a dedicated recycling program for its drivetrains.
What recycling options does Brose offer?
Brose is the first manufacturer of e-bike drivetrains to offer a concept that allows us to make individual assemblies or parts of old drivetrains usable again. The overhaul program saves at least 21 kilograms of CO2 compared to the use of new parts - per drive. This is how Brose sets new standards for environmentally friendly mobility.
How does the cycle work?
Not every part of the drive is suitable for overhaul. Brose uses this option for electronic components, signal transmission discs, torque sensors and sockets. After disassembly, the parts are inspected and thoroughly cleaned; mechanical parts, for example, go into their own washing installation. An intensive inspection will then take place. Once the parts have passed all the tests, they use the remaining parts to build a remanufactured drivetrain that rivals a completely new engine in terms of durability and quality. This process applies to the Mag and Alu series motors.
How can you personally support the cycle?
Currently only in Germany, if the e-bike has a defect or is no longer desired, you should not leave it in the garage or take it to a recycling center, but hand it in to the specialist dealer. The correct steps are then taken here.
